What is Contract Management?
Draft, analyze, collaborate on, and sign contracts — all in one place.
The Lawis Contract Management module — also called CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) — gives your legal team a single workspace to manage contracts from initial draft through to executed signature. Every stage of the contract lifecycle is supported, with AI assistance built into each step.
The contract lifecycle on Lawis
A contract on Lawis moves through a defined lifecycle:
- Draft — Contract is being written or is under internal revision
- In Review — Contract has been sent to a reviewer or approver
- Pending Signature — Contract is awaiting e-signature from one or more parties
- Signed — All parties have signed; contract is executed
What you can do
With the CLM module, your team can:
- Create contracts from scratch or from pre-built templates
- Use AI to generate initial contract content based on type and category
- Edit contracts in a rich-text editor with real-time collaboration
- Run AI-powered risk analysis to identify problematic clauses
- Get clause improvement suggestions from the AI
- Collaborate using threaded comments and tracked changes
- Send contracts for electronic signature via DamanSign
- Access full version history and restore previous drafts
- Export contracts as PDF or DOCX
- Search and filter your entire contract library
How to access it
From the left navigation bar, click the Contracts icon or navigate to /contract. The main contracts screen shows your full contract library organized by status tabs.
Contract categories
Lawis organizes contracts by category to help you find templates and apply the right AI analysis for each type:
- Labor — Employment contracts, offer letters, termination agreements
- Commercial — Sales, distribution, supply, agency agreements
- Real Estate — Lease agreements, sale contracts, property management
- Finance — Loan agreements, investment contracts, guarantees
- Technology — SaaS agreements, software licenses, NDAs
- Services — Consulting, freelance, service level agreements
Selecting the right category when creating a contract improves the quality of AI-generated content and risk analysis, since the engine applies category-specific legal knowledge.
