Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, or subscribing to any plan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you must not use or access the Platform.
Leyona Technologies reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes at least thirty (30) days in advance via email or in-platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any modification, you may terminate your subscription before the changes take effect.
Description of Service
Lawis is an AI-powered legal intelligence platform designed for legal professionals. The Platform provides the following services, subject to the User's subscription plan: AI-assisted legal search across an extensive database of legal sources, an AI legal chat assistant with source citations, contract lifecycle management including collaborative editing and templates, electronic signature capabilities, national and international legal monitoring with personalized alerts, and a legal announcements hub.
The Platform is designed to assist legal professionals in their research and practice. Lawis does not provide legal advice, and no content on the Platform shall be construed as such. All AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only and must be reviewed and verified by qualified legal professionals before any reliance or use in legal proceedings.
Leyona Technologies strives to maintain the accuracy and completeness of its legal database but does not warrant that all legal sources are current, complete, or error-free at all times. The User acknowledges that legal databases are subject to ongoing updates and that temporary gaps may exist.
Subscription & Pricing
Access to the Platform requires a paid subscription. The features, limits, and pricing applicable to each subscription plan are described on the Platform's pricing page (lawis.ai) and may vary by plan. Certain features, including but not limited to contract management, electronic signatures, and advanced AI capabilities, are reserved for higher-tier plans.
Leyona Technologies offers a free trial period as indicated during the subscription process. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. Unless the subscription is cancelled before the end of the trial period, the User will be automatically billed at the applicable rate.
Leyona Technologies reserves the right to revise its pricing annually, or upon the introduction of significant new features or services. Active subscribers will receive at least thirty (30) days' written notice before any price change takes effect. Price changes shall not apply to the current billing period. The User may cancel their subscription if they do not accept the revised pricing.
Promotional offers, discounts, and launch pricing are time-limited and subject to the conditions stated at the time of the offer. Leyona Technologies is under no obligation to renew or extend promotional pricing at its expiration.
Billing & Payment
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Leyona Technologies does not store, collect, or have access to your full credit card numbers or payment details. All payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy and security standards.
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, depending on the selected plan) and renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. The User may cancel their subscription at any time through the Platform. Upon cancellation, access to the Platform continues until the end of the current paid billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
In the event of a failed payment, the User's account status will be updated to restrict access until the payment issue is resolved. Leyona Technologies will notify the User by email of any payment failure and provide a reasonable grace period to update payment information before suspending access.
Invoices are generated automatically and available for download in the User's billing dashboard on the Platform. The User may also manage payment methods and billing information through the secure Stripe Customer Portal accessible from the Platform.
User Accounts & License
Each subscription seat constitutes a personal, non-transferable license granted to a single named user. One license corresponds to one user. Sharing account credentials with any other person, whether within or outside the User's organization, is strictly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of these Terms.
Leyona Technologies monitors for abnormal usage patterns indicative of unauthorized account sharing, including but not limited to: multiple simultaneous sessions from different geographic locations, excessive device switching, and usage patterns inconsistent with a single user. Each user account is limited to a maximum of four (4) active devices.
Upon detection of suspected unauthorized license sharing, Leyona Technologies will apply the following graduated enforcement procedure: (a) First incident: written warning sent by email; (b) Second incident: temporary account suspension for forty-eight (48) hours; (c) Third incident: permanent account termination without refund for the remaining subscription period.
Organization administrators may invite additional team members within the limits of their subscription plan. The User is responsible for maintaining accurate and current registration information. Leyona Technologies reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts containing inaccurate or misleading information.
Acceptable Use
The User agrees to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The User shall not use the Platform to engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations, or that infringes upon the rights of third parties.
The User shall not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying architecture of the Platform or its AI models. The User shall not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform beyond what is expressly permitted by the User's subscription plan.
The User shall not circumvent any access restrictions, rate limits, or usage quotas associated with their subscription tier. Any attempt to bypass technical safeguards or exploit vulnerabilities in the Platform shall result in immediate account termination.
The User shall not use the Platform to build a competing product or service, resell or sublicense access to the Platform, or provide access to unauthorized third parties. The User shall not upload malware, illegal content, or content that infringes intellectual property rights of third parties.
Intellectual Property & Branding
The Platform, including its AI models, algorithms, user interface, design, documentation, source code, and all associated intellectual property, is the exclusive property of Leyona Technologies and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws of the Kingdom of Morocco and international treaties, including the Berne Convention and the TRIPS Agreement.
The Lawis name, logo, trademarks, and all brand assets are the exclusive property of Leyona Technologies. Any reproduction, modification, distribution, or commercial use of the Lawis brand, logo, or visual identity without prior written authorization from Leyona Technologies is strictly prohibited. Authorized use of the Lawis brand (e.g., "Powered by Lawis") requires explicit prior approval.
The User retains full ownership of all data, documents, and content uploaded to the Platform. By uploading content, the User grants Leyona Technologies a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process such content solely for the purpose of providing the Platform services. Leyona Technologies shall not use User content for any other purpose, including AI model training, without explicit consent.
Any output generated by the Lawis AI is provided "as-is" for informational purposes. The User is free to use such output in their professional work, subject to their own independent verification of accuracy, applicability, and legal validity. Leyona Technologies makes no warranty regarding the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
Database Rights & Content Usage
The User may access, view, and download legal documents available on the Platform solely for their own personal or internal professional use. This includes consulting, reading, printing, or saving documents for the purpose of legal research, case preparation, or professional reference within the scope of the User's practice.
The User shall not, directly or indirectly: (a) systematically download, extract, or reproduce a substantial portion of the Platform's legal database; (b) redistribute, republish, or make available legal documents obtained from the Platform to third parties, whether free of charge or for a fee; (c) use downloaded content to create, populate, or enrich a competing database, legal search engine, AI training dataset, or any derivative product or service; (d) sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any content obtained from the Platform; or (e) use automated tools, scripts, or any other means for bulk downloading or mass extraction of documents.
Content obtained from the Platform shall not be used as training data, fine-tuning data, evaluation data, or input data for any machine learning model, large language model, or artificial intelligence system, whether commercial or non-commercial, without prior written authorization from Leyona Technologies.
While the underlying legal texts may constitute public domain material as official government publications, the compilation, consolidation, structuring, formatting, enrichment, cross-referencing, and presentation of such texts by Leyona Technologies represents original work protected by intellectual property rights and database rights under Moroccan Law 2-00 on copyright and related rights, and applicable international treaties. The User's right to access raw legal texts through official government channels is unaffected by these Terms.
Any unauthorized extraction, systematic reproduction, commercial reuse, or redistribution of content from the Platform may result in immediate account termination without refund and may give rise to legal action for damages, including statutory damages for database right infringement and intellectual property violations.
Electronic Signature
The Platform offers an electronic signature service available to eligible subscription plans. Electronic signatures are secured through unique tokenized signing links (cryptographically hashed) and one-time password (OTP) verification sent to the signatory's email address. Signing tokens have a limited validity period.
Upon completion of all signatures, a signed PDF document is automatically generated and sent to all parties by email. Leyona Technologies maintains audit trails of all signing events, including timestamps, IP addresses, and verification methods used.
Leyona Technologies does not guarantee the legal validity or enforceability of electronic signatures in all jurisdictions. The User is solely responsible for verifying that the use of electronic signatures complies with applicable laws in their jurisdiction, including but not limited to Moroccan Law 43-20 on electronic trust services, the UAE Electronic Transactions and Trust Services Law, and EU Regulation eIDAS. Leyona Technologies shall not be liable for any dispute arising from the legal recognition of electronic signatures.
Data Protection & Confidentiality
Leyona Technologies processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. The User is encouraged to review the Privacy Policy available at lawis.ai/privacy.
Client data is logically isolated at the organizational level — no organization may access another organization's data. Leyona Technologies implements industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, strict access controls, and continuous monitoring.
For detailed information about data collection, storage, retention, third-party processors, and User rights regarding personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
Service Availability
Leyona Technologies uses commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and performance of the Platform. However, the Platform is provided on an "as available" basis, and Leyona Technologies does not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, or error-free access.
Planned maintenance windows will be communicated to Users in advance when reasonably possible. Leyona Technologies shall not be liable for interruptions caused by maintenance, updates, or upgrades to the Platform.
Leyona Technologies shall not be held responsible for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet outages, cyberattacks, third-party service failures, or any other force majeure event.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Leyona Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from or in connection with the use or inability to use the Platform.
Leyona Technologies shall not be liable for any decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated outputs provided by the Platform. The User assumes full responsibility for verifying and validating all information obtained through the Platform before use in legal proceedings or professional practice.
In no event shall the total aggregate liability of Leyona Technologies under these Terms exceed the total amount paid by the User for the Platform services during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which liability is asserted.
Termination
The User may cancel their subscription at any time through the Platform. Upon cancellation, the User retains access until the end of the current paid billing period. The User may also request complete account deletion by contacting Leyona Technologies.
Leyona Technologies may suspend or terminate the User's account immediately, without prior notice, in the event of: (a) a material breach of these Terms; (b) non-payment of fees after a reasonable grace period; (c) use of the Platform for illegal purposes; or (d) conduct that endangers the security or integrity of the Platform or other Users' data.
Upon termination, the User's access to the Platform is immediately revoked. User data will be retained for thirty (30) days following termination to allow for data export, after which it will be permanently deleted, except where retention is required by applicable law (e.g., billing records under Moroccan tax law). Sections relating to Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law, and this Termination clause shall survive termination.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rabat, Morocco.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. In the event of discrepancy between translated versions of these Terms, the French version shall prevail.
